Western Airlines on April 24, 1963. To Itel Corporation,
September 14, 1978. Sold to PIA, September 14, 1978. Registered in Pakistan as AP-BAF for PIA.
On January 8, 1981, AP-BAF was operating PIA flight PK-320
from Karachi to Quetta with a total of 72 people onboard
including crew and passengers. The nose landing-gear of PIA
Boeing 720B failed to extend for landing at Quetta Airport
and the captain elected to return to land at Karachi. None
of the 72 people aboard the aircraft including crew and
passengers were injured in the landing. The aircraft nose is
reported to have been in contact with the runway for the
last 500ft of the landing run. Aircraft stored at Karachi
Airport, May 1981.
Registration AP-BAF removed from Pakistan Aircraft Register
on March 30, 1982. Aircraft broken up / scrapped at Karachi
Airport, May 1982. |
