Construction number 10307. Registered in
the Netherlands as PH-FKB, N.V. Koninklijke Nederlandse
Vliegtuigenfabriek (KNV) Fokker, September 8, 1966. First
flight on September 12, 1966. Registration PH-FKB cancelled
on September 17, 1966. Registered in Pakistan as AP-AUR and
delivered to PIA. AP-AUR painted in Libyan Arab Airlines livery and
leased out to Libyan Arab Airlines, July 1972. Aircraft returned to PIA,
April 1976. On June 16, 2004, AP-AUR was operating PIA
scheduled passenger flight PK-660 from Peshawar to Chitral
when it was damaged beyond repair during landing at Chitral
Airport. All 4 crew members and 36 passengers survived the
accident. The Fokker landed too far up the runway leaving
little space for itself to slow down on the runway. The
aircraft did not stop on the runway, and overshot the area
of the airport. It slipped into nearby fields as all its
tyres burst with a loud noise. The accident caused damage to
aircraft's landing gear, engines and nose section. The
aircraft was declared a write-off and withdrawn from service
after the accident. Registration
AP-AUR removed from Pakistan Aircraft Register on October
20, 2004. Aircraft used as coffee shop at Hindukush Heights
Hotel, Chitral. |
