United States of America (USA) as N90835 or NC90835. Registered in Pakistan as AP-AEH for
Government of Pakistan, June 29, 1949. On loan to Orient Airways. Transferred to Pakistan International
Airlines (PIA) on March 11, 1955. On May 15, 1958, AP-AEH
with six crew members and thirty two passengers was
performing PIA flight from Delhi (India) to Karachi
(Pakistan) when it crashed at 8:20 PM soon after night take-off from
Delhi Airport. Four crew members including Capt. Sarfaraz and seventeen passengers
died in this accident. Two persons on the ground also died
due to this accident. Probable cause suggested as pilot's
misreading of instruments allowing descent into the ground
and possibly his state of health. Registration AP-AEH removed from
Pakistan Aircraft Register on August 6, 1958. |
